At Amalfi Living, craftsmanship isn’t just a tradition, it’s our legacy. Since our founding in 1955, we’ve remained committed to creating heirloom-quality outdoor furniture, handcrafted one piece at a time in the USA.

In our early years, we imported our collections directly from Italy, drawing inspiration from timeless European design. By the 1970s, our American craftsmen had so closely mastered that level of artistry that we brought production stateside, giving us greater control over every detail while preserving the old-world quality that defines the Amalfi Collection. Today, many of our artisans are second-generation Amalfi Master Craftsmen, continuing a tradition of meticulous craftsmanship that spans more than seven decades.

Amalfi Living is led by Robert Howard, Owner and Chief Furniture Designer. With decades of experience overseeing design and production for award-winning furniture and interior design companies, Robert brings a discerning eye for proportion, function, and enduring style. Under his direction, every Amalfi piece reflects a balance of heritage, innovation, and timeless outdoor elegance. From design collaboration and customization to White Glove & Final Mile Delivery, we work closely with interior designers, landscape architects, architects, builders, and homeowners to ensure every project is as seamless as the furniture itself.

We also fondly remember Shakespeare, Robert’s loyal Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon and the beloved face of our catalog for many years. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirited presence remains part of the Amalfi story—a reminder of the warmth, loyalty, and enduring character we hope every Amalfi piece brings to the outdoor spaces where memories are made.
